Annett was trained as a painter, printmaker and photographer and her studio's and practise are based, respectively in Bedford Town Centre at Bedford Creative Arts www.bedfordcreativearts.org.uk and the remote Bedfordshire countryside, where she also curates The Little White Shed (2014)and the Striped Van (2015) mobile micro artspace.

Annett works across all media and since the late noughties has developed her collaborative and curational projects, in 2008 establishing FRINGEMK, celebr8 and The Milton Keynes Cenotaph Projects, all of which have subsequently taken on life and legs of their own. In three years she delivered 3 International festivals, run three project and exhibition spaces, co-ordinated several ground breaking 'world first's' and brought over 90 International Artists and performers, raised 700,000's of high quality Art events and performances to Central Milton Keynes. Her work has been enjoyed by [or surprised] over 22,000,000 visitors.

The vehicle which has made this possible was been FRINGEMK and would not have been possible with out the key support of the two shopping centres, thecentre:mk and Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes Council Public Art Unit and HCA with a special acknowledgement to Gavin Anderson [co-founder of FRINGEMK] Jackie Tracy and Martin Hindson who have had the vision and courage to support Annetts concepts and events, recognising the cultural, social and commercial value they create.
Annett writes; "It is possible to site very difficult or challenging contemporary art works in to the shopping centres because they are perceived as such 'safe' places to the general public, who might not have the confidence to visit a formal 'gallery'. With the idea, of creating series of temporary, site specific public art events, the public stumbles unwittingly into, often live performance and installation pieces, thus we coined the slogan for FRINGEMK of 'Unavoidable Art'."

Annett is ex-Chair and a founder member of Westbury Farm Studios which was HQ for the Silbury Group, before it became Westbury in 2006 and in May 2011 Annett co-ordinated the merger of FRINGEMK and Westbury to the newly branded FRINGEMK@Westbury.

Under Annett's direction FRINGEMK was nominated for 7 regional and national awards in Arts and Business, including those in Branding, Community, Innovation and Technology.

The late Mike Stanley, said of Annett, " Sally is one of those rare people, with a key grasp of regional and national infrastructure overlaid with a deep understanding of International, Contemporary Art"

Annett has a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Bretton Hall (Leeds University) and a Masters Degree in Intercultural Communication from the University of Bedfordshire, where she transposed her Arts Council England funded projects; 'Snakes and Ladders' and 'Snakes and Ladders Urban - Rural'into a critical, academic format as well as studying the works of and working with Warren Kenton, Colin A Low and Dolores Ashcroft Nowicki.

Her 2016 pilot project also ACE funded, 'Contemplation Seats' was nominated for an AcORP award for arts and sustainability and will continue on into 2017. Please see www.contemplationseats.com
